Oak Room
Childcare for ages 1 to 2 years old.
Your toddler is on the move and ready to pick up the pace.
They need space to explore and toys and books that spark their imaginations. They’re eager to play and laugh and want to try new things. They’re also developing self-control and can sit at a table and follow directions. They like to do things “by myself” such as putting on coats and shoes and are exceptionally motivated to be helpers.

A time of discovery
The Oak Room vibrates with positive energy. When you enter, you step inside a hive of happy activity. The children move quickly through the room, building with blocks, greeting a friend, or dancing to the music. They sometime stop to read a book or tell a teacher what just popped into their lively little mind. The teachers are there to guide them, listening to their ideas and working with them to bring their visions to life.
In the Oak Room, individual rhythms begin to merge into a class harmony. Individuals might take tangents or detours, but we find ways to come back together around activities such as studio time, meals, and naptime. We’re also starting to use the potty. For some, the potty is a place to sit down and begin getting comfortable with the idea. For others, it’s a relief from soggy diapers. Each child decides about the potty in their own time and we celebrate every milestone. What’s most important in the Oak room is that each child finds their own way in their own time.
